I am so proud of the Dallas Mavericks in these finals because they came in as the underdogs and they are holding their own. The Dallas Marvicks clenched game five of the MBA Finals by defeating the Miami Heat 112-103. I thought that after all the criticism that LeBron James' received after his menial 8-point performance in Game 4, that he would come out and whip some Maverick butt. We all waited with baited breath, thinking that this would be the beginning of the ultimate basketball challenge... Instead, Heat fans were left disappointed and defeated! Now the Mavericks are only one win away from having it all.

5 year old Girl Drowned Her 18 month old Brother "Because He Wouln't Stop Crying"...
Kansas City Police are reporting that A 5-year-old girl could face murder charges after she allegedly drowned her 18 month-old relative, Jermane Johnson Jr in a bathtub. Kansas City police are waiting for a medical examiner's report on the specifics of the drowning. Kansas City Police changed the originally ruling of the death from an accidental death because of the statements the child made to social workers. According to various sources, she told social workers that she held him under the water because he wouldn't stop crying. The children were not alone, The 16 year-old babysitter who were watching the children apparently fell asleep and when the toddler started crying, through interviews the police learned, she became irritated with him and held him under the water until he stopped crying.
Police said the 5-year-old was not arrested, and the case was referred to the Jackson County's family courts division. The decision on how to handle such a case when the accused is so young leaves prosecutors with an important and controversial decision to make. Juvenile justice experts expressed shock that police said they were treating the death as a potential homicide. But what do you think? Should the case be treated as a homicide? Or should the 5 year old go unpunished...what do you think?

Does the Settlement Reached in The Bishop Eddis Long Case Make You Think He is Guilty?
Bishop Eddie Long, the Atlanta based minister accused of sexual coercion of four young men, reached an out-of-court settlement in late May. However, the details of this settlement are slowly leaking out. According to sources, Bishop Eddie Long has allegedly agreed to pay $25 million dollars collectively and he has agreed to extent apologies to each claimant. The four young men accused Long of engaging in intimate sexual acts with them such as massages, masturbation and oral sex.The settlement comes eight months after Eddie Long, the senior pastor of New Birth Missionary Church in Georgia, announced to his congregation of 25,000 members, that he would fight the accusations against him, as the congregation cheered in response to the statement. Now eight months later, it is alleged that he has agreed to pay out $25 million dollars (collectively) AND apologize to the claimants. This is a huge concession to make; especially if you didn't do anything wrong. If this is true...it leaves a big question mark in the heads of many people. This knowledge about the alleged details of the lawsuit has me reeling because now I am questioning the validity of his denials. What do you think?
Wanda Sykes Says That Being Gay Is Harder Than Being Black!
Comedian Wanda Sykes sat down with Piers Morgan to talk about her career. And the conversation quickly moved to her being gay. Wanda Sikes totally shocked me when she stated that, since she came out about her sexuality, it is harder for her to be gay than it is to be black. First, I don't think that you can compare being gay to being black...it is like comparing apples and oranges. Some may argue that being gay is a choice, however, I am willingly to concede that God creates each being with a purpose in mind and He created them the way He wanted and for His purpose. Some homosexuals feel, from a very early age, that they are homosexual and they can't follow the traditional sexual union blueprint; and I can't dispute that either. However, I do believe that all people have the choice in the way that we choose to express or sexuality... Black people don't have that choice. I can't decide, when I wake up, that I don't want to be black anymore and change my skin color; Bbecause visually I am easily identified and can't go undetected whether I want to or choose to. I believe Ms. Sikes was very careless with her words and didn't consider other options before making this statement. Maybe Ms. Sikes career is going well because she isn't as funny as she thinks she is; or maybe the content of her material is offensive to others. Or finally, maybe it is a combination of her sexuality, race and gender. According to sources, it is very hard for any female, black or white, to make it in comedic circles; and discrimination based on race and sexuality is not uncommon in those circles either. Ms. Sikes was very reckless with her statements and in the future, before she makes excuses as to why her career is not soaring, she should seriously evaluate her career and other reasons why she is not as successful as she strives to be before she makes controversial statements like that. What do you think?
